Borrowing money: Exploring borrowing and credit

This session gives young people the chance to examine their own attitude to borrowing and the potential risks of making poor borrowing decisions. They will learn about the types of borrowing and credit available to support them in making more informed, positive choices as a consumer. They will also discover some frauds and scams and how they can protect themselves against these.

KEY LEARNINGS

  • Their own motivation to borrow and how to manage it
  • The most suitable forms of borrowing to meet their needs now and in the future, including any associated risks
  • Alternative methods of getting what they need and want
